Sagano, Arashiyama~

2013/2/15

We went to Sagano and Arashiyama today.
We stopped at a shop. This shop was open even in the early morning. There were pretty dolls made from cocoons.

They treated us to green tea and sweets.

Amanda said-
This was a magical experience. I'll never forget it. The fact that it was raining made it ten times more magical. The shop owners were so sweet.

We parked our car near Togetsukyo and walked around.
Togetsukyo in Arashiyama

The scene was beautiful with misty mountains.

Togetsukyo means "moon crossing over the bridge". When the moon moves across the sky, it appears as if the moon is crossing over the bridge. The bridge is 155m ( 170 yards) long. You can enjoy the view of the bridge with cherry blossom or colored leaves depending on the season.

Sagano bamboo forest road

We walked from Togetsukyo to the bamboo forest road. This road is very popular as you can feel  "Kyoto".

While we were walking, the bottom of Sandie's left shoe broke. She felt chilled from the rainwater. We decided it would be a good time to stop for a hot drink! A cup of hot chocolate warmed her as she doesn't drink coffee or tea. I felt relieved because some coffee shops don't have hot chocolate, but this shop did.
