Farewell~いよいよお別れ

This is the last day; Amanda family will go to Singapore this evening.
We took them to Zushi Marina; we hoped that we might enjoy Mt. Fuji through the window of the restaurant.

今日はついにお別れの日。
ランチには最後ののぞみをかけて
富士山はみえるかも、と逗子マリーナのレストランに出掛けました。

Amanda said-

What can I say to summarize our time in Japan? I can say that I feel incredibly fortunate in many ways. I feel so lucky that we had as many amazing “once in a lifetime” experiences in this beautiful country as we did. From standing in mountaintop temples in the setting sun, to drinking in views of Mt. Fuji, to experiencing Japanese life at the speed of a bullet train, to experiencing Japanese life at the speed of a sleepy lakeside village, we saw and did enough in those eight days to fill several weeks at least. But the way in which I feel the most fortunate is that we were able to have these experiences with people who we truly regard and care for as family. We laughed and shared so many memories, and that makes me the most grateful.

アマンダは・・
日本ではどうだったかって聞かれても一言では言えないわ。生涯で一回限りのすばらしいたくさんの経験が出来たわ。
夕日の中、山の上に建っていたお寺（清水寺）に行ったこと、芦ノ湖でお茶したこと、新幹線に乗った事、のどかな箱根での日本の生活など、数週間分の体験を８日間で体験したみたい。
だけど一番幸せに感じているのは家族のように思っている人たちと一緒に笑ったり、沢山の体験を通して思い出を共有できた事・・と言ってくれました。

The eight days passed as quickly as the wind blows. It was still like a dream for me. I was so happy to see Amanda and her parents in my country, Japan.
Knowing about the country from many experiences is better than only hearing about it. 
I learned about the culture, custom and life of the U.S.A when I lived there. I am sure that Amanda experienced our culture and life in Japan during this trip. We live in different countries, but our feelings and thoughts are very similar. I hope that I will keep touch with Amanda's family.

Amanda's family went to Singapore where Amanda is a lecturer. I visited Amanda in Singapore with my husband in October. This is my blog about it. 

私にとっても８日間はあっという間にすぎてしまいました。
まだ夢だったように感じています。
アマンダ一家が日本に来てくれて本当に幸せでした。
その国の事はただ聞いて知るより、色々な体験を通して知る方が良いですよね。
私もアメリカに住んでいる時にアメリカの文化、習慣や生活を直に知る事ができました。
今回この旅行でアマンダが日本での体験を通して
日本の事をさらにもっと理解してくれた事に違いない、と思っています。
お互い違う国に住んでいますが感じる心や考えはとても似ています。
今後もアマンダ一家とおつきあいが続けられたら嬉しいな、と思っています。

一家はアマンダが講師をしているシンガポールに旅立ちました。
実は私達は昨年の10月にシンガポールに行ってきました。
