Yosemite National Park

日本には9月に帰国した。

サンフランシスコに住んでいる時にも夫と色々な所に旅行した。
日本から子供たちが来た時に2回ヨセミテに行った。
ヨセミテ国立公園は世界遺産になっている。
家からは車で約4時間かかり、長い道のりだった。


I returned to Japan in September.
When I lived in San Francisco, I took some trips with my husband. We went to Yosemite twice when my children came from Japan to visit us.
Yosemite National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It took about four hours to get to Yosemite from our house by car. It was a long trip.

ヨセミテは大自然が沢山残されていた。
The park is a beautiful natural wilderness.

滝が多い事でも有名。
私達はヨセミテの滝の下の方と、ブライダルベール滝を見た。

It is known for its waterfalls. We saw Lower Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil Falls.

We were in the mist from the waterfalｌs.

滝に行く途中で、滝から降りてきた人達が写真のようなゴミ袋で作ったポンチョを渡してくれた。

私達も降りるとき、途中で会った人にそれを渡してあげた。

On our way up to the falls, we met some people who gave us ponchos they had made from plastic  garbage bags. When we left, we gave the ponchos to some other people.

ヨセミテの滝

This is Lower Yosemite Falls.

エル・キャピタンが良く見えるという場所に行って見た。

目を凝らして見ると遠くに登っている人が小さく見えた・・

We went to a place where we could have a good view of El Capitan. We saw a climber who was challenging El Capitan in the distance. 

エル・キャピタンは垂直にそそり立つ岩で、アメリカの中でもロッククライマ-達に人気がある場所。

El Capitan is one of the most famous vertical rock formations in the U.S.A; it is favorite challenge for rock climbers.

トンネルビューは写真を撮るのに絶景の場所。

ヨセミテ渓谷に南から来たとき、トンネルを通り抜けるとすぐにその素晴らしい光景が目に入る。

沢山の車が写真を撮るために止まっていた。

Tunnel View is a famous point for taking pictures. It is located on State Route 41, as one enters Yosemite Valley from the South. The view includes Bridalveil Falls. Many cars stop there to take pictures.
